#EFIC2022 is the largest European Pain Congress in 2022

As an organisation, the European Pain Federation EFIC® has been growing steadily over the last 25 years in its core domains of education, research, and advocacy. We have developed into Europe´s most important multi-disciplinary and multi-professional organization in the field of pain medicine, representing 37 constituent national pain societies with over 20,000 scientists, physicians, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals. At #EFIC2022, we will offer you an overwhelming number of lectures, workshops, refresher courses and networking initiatives on almost every single aspect of pain.Furthermore, apart from the newest developments in basic science, we will discuss all aspects of multimodal interdisciplinary care for patients living with pain.

#EFIC2022 shines a spotlight on current trends and future developments in pain medicine

On a strategic level, we want to encourage the active participation of young researchers and clinicians by introducing new formats of workshops. Therefore, we formed a broad-based Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) chaired by Eija Kalso. The SPC is working on an attractive and ambitious programme and will give room to both established internationally known scientists, but also their younger fellows and postdocs. This emphasis on the future of pain medicine leads up to the theme of our 2022 meeting: “Targeting pain and its comorbidities in the Digital Age”.

#EFIC2022 is an excellent networking opportunity

Importantly, you will be able to meet many colleagues and friends – both old and new! Connecting with your peers and mentors is one of the most important aspects of our congress, especially after a prolonged time where this has not been possible. Join other international physicians and scientists to be a part of this unique opportunity to share cutting edge research and network with distinguished experts in the field.

Dublin, the city of opportunities

Dublin is a vibrant, comtemporary city listed in 2018 as a Global City by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC). Therefore, the perfect city for meetings and a wonderful opportunity to discover a city full of oppotunities, where ancient traditions and modern architecture meet to create a unique atmosphere. The iconic neighbourhood of Temple Bar along with the Samuel Becket Bridge and the Guiness Storehouse are three locations one should definitely visit.

#EFIC2022 is a unique destination to extend your stay

Why not mix business with a little bit of pleasure? April is a wonderful time to explore and enjoy Ireland, both large urban cities as well as the beautiful and incredible countryside. And don’t forget to try the delicious and unique cuisine, for example a Stout Guiness and an Irish Stew!

On behalf of the European Pain Federation EFIC®, I would like to encourage you to join us at the most ambitious Pain Congress in 2022. I look forward to welcoming you to the medieval city of Dublin.
