Abstract Submission



The deadline for the Late-breaking Abstract submission is now closed.

All abstracts will undergo review by Scientific Programme Committee. The Committee will determine whether abstracts will be accepted as oral or poster presentations with consideration to be given to the author’s preference.

Notifications regarding acceptance will be sent by middle of July 2019.

Only accepted abstracts of fully registered and paid presenters will be included in the final scientific programme. The presenting author is expected to attend the Congress and present his/her oral or poster presentation.

Presenters are requested to settle their registration payment by 20 May 2019.


Abstracts must be submitted in English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English speaker, by a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility) or by a copy editor, prior to submission.

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

  1. Presenting author’s contact details
    • Email address
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
    • Telephone number
  2. Author and co-authors’ details
    • Full name (first name(s) and family name(s).
    • Email address
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
Submission Rules
  • All abstracts submitted online will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee.
  • Abstracts should be submitted via the online submission system only; abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be reviewed.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
  • The content of the abstract should not have been previously published or presented at national or international meetings prior to Pain in Europe XI.
  • To correct an abstract that has already been submitted or to submit another abstract, please use the log-in and password which you received when you submitted your original abstract. This will enable you to access the previously submitted abstract/s or to submit an additional abstract/s.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract.
  • After your abstract submittal you will be sent an automatic e-mail confirming your successful submission. If you do not receive this confirmation e-mail, please contact the Congress Secretariat at efic2019-scientific@kit-group.org.
Submission Guidelines

1. Presentation types:

    • Oral
    • Poster

    Abstract title – limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE


  1. Abstract body – limited to 250 words, including acknowledgements.

(Please note: word count is affected when graphs/tables/images are included)

We recommend using word-processing software (for example, Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words.

3. Abstracts should be structured as shown below:
– Background and aims
– Methods
– Results
– Conclusions
Abstracts that are not conforming to this structure will be rejected

  1. Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations, in parentheses, after the full word appears the first time.
  2. Use generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.
  3. Abstract Category – abstracts will be grouped into scientific/medical topics in accordance with the list of main topics. Please use the appropriate fields in the abstract submission form to list the topic most suited to your abstract. Although we will try to honour your preferences, this cannot be guaranteed.To preview the categories, please click here​.
  4. Tables – A maximum of 3 tables of up to 10 rows x 10 columns can be included per abstract.
  5. Graphs and images – Pictures/Graphs: Authors can include a maximum of 3 Pictures/graphs. The maximum file size of each picture/graph is 500 KB.The maximum pixel size of the graph/picture is 600(w) x 800(h) pixels.
    You can upload graphs and images in JPG, PNG and GIF format only.



Disclosure of financial relationships that the author(s) may have with the manufacturer/supplier of any commercial products or services related to the work, should be indicated in the appropriate box on the abstract form.

  • Abstract Submitters grant the Organisers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive licence to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content.
  • The Organisers reserve the right to remove from any publication an abstract that does not comply with the above.
